Description

In accordance with FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii), the Government intends to solicit a brand name only solicitation for the Ventana Medical System Platforms (reagents and instrument): Benchmark Ultra, the Symphony, and the Benchmark Special Stains. The aforementioned Ventana Medical System Platforms is the only platform that completely eliminates hazardous waste generation during processing runs, meeting the Government need/requirement to reduce the generation and subsequent costly disposal of hazardous waste. The xylene substitute, alcohol substitute and prepackaged reagents utilized for specimen staining have been cleared by the EPA, OSHA, and the State of Hawaii for straight to drain waste disposal. This is the only instrumentation for this type of testing that is currently xylene and alcohol free, and therefore cleared for straight to drain waste disposal. Ventana is the only source that manufactures this highly specialized item. The solicitation will be available on or around 13 May 2016. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 334516.
