Description
RFQ The Department of Commerce, NOAA, Resource Assessment and Conservation Engineering (RACE) division has a requirement to design and manufacture one (1) secondary auxiliary net to capture fish and organisms that may escape the footrope. This net will be fixed to the standard survey trawl. The auxiliary net must impose minimal change of the fishing configuration of the primary survey trawl and must be able to catch escaped fish and organisms that may pass under the footrope. Bottom trawl gear descriptions and designs are available in the Statement of Work attached to the Request for Quotation. Delivery of the new auxiliary net shall be on or about August 10, 2016 for AFSC testing. The requirement has an option for additional modifications to the designed net not-to-exceed $3,000.00. Data from these surveys are utilized in stock assessment and fishery evaluation (SAFE) documents The requirements for the trawl will consist of a meeting to discuss design specifications; design approval and manufacturing; and, design testing.
