- UPDATE: The Major Rehab Report (MRR) is available at: http://www.nwp.usace.army.mil/Missions/Current/ColumbiaRiverjetties.aspx U.S Army Corps of Engineers Portland District Industry Day MCR North and South Jetties Industry Day Date: Wednesday, April 27 Time: 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., doors open at 7 a.m. Location: 911 Federal Building, 911 N.E. 11th Ave, Portland, OR 97232 Building 911 is an easy walk from the Lloyd Center/NE 11th Avenue MAX stop which serves the Green, Red and Blue lines. Limited parking is available near the facility. The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District (Corps), will be presenting the current forecasted rehabilitation plan for the MCR North and South Jetties. In June 2012, USACE Northwestern Division approved the Major Rehabilitation Evaluation Report. Approval of this report authorized the Corps to begin designing the rehabilitation of the MCR Jetty system including Jetty A, North Jetty and South Jetty. In Fiscal Year (FY15) the Corps received funding to award the construction contract for Jetty A. The Corps currently anticipates releasing requests for proposals for the North Jetty rehabilitation project in 2017 and South Jetty rehabilitation project in 2019. The current planning estimate for stone quantities is 220,000 tons of new jetty stone procurement and placement for North Jetty and 344,000 ton of new jetty stone procurement and placement for the South Jetty. For more in-depth information regarding the Corps' authority and plans to rehabilitate the MCR jetty system, please refer to the MCR Jetties Major Rehabilitation Report which can be found on the Corps website: http://www.nwp.usace.army.mil/Missions/Current/ColumbiaRiverjetties.aspx The Corps seeks to inform and discuss with interested construction contractors and quarries, the following: •General Scope of Work o Discussion on site access, stone/equipment staging, barge offloading facilities, Contractor requirements, jetty stone placement requirements and phasing, seasonal work windows. •Anticipated Stone Quality and Testing Requirements o Present a range of size and quality of stone and subsequent testing requirements. o Discussion on regional quarry availability: Discussion with the Quarry and Prime Contractors to ascertain what they see as the biggest challenge with being prepared and competitive for large jetty projects. •Current Optimized Rehabilitation Schedule •Anticipated Period of Performance •Anticipated Job Advertisement Periods •Prelude to October 2016 FedBizOps posting o Intent of Corps to bring awareness to industry of stone procurement requirements prior to advertisement periods. Plan to arrive early as all participants must go through security screening and be issued a visitor badge. This process is very similar to airport security and many of the same rules apply: a state or federal government-issued photo I.D. is required; no firearms, knives or sharp objects, or hazardous materials are permitted; all bags are subject to search; metal belts, jewelry, etc. must be removed before passing through the metal detectors. It is illegal to attempt to enter a federal facility with weapons, explosives, incendiary devices, and illicit drugs, even if it is legal to possess a firearm or drugs in a state or city. Disclaimer This event is open to all contractors and is not restricted to those currently under contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This is an opportunity to introduce this project to the Industry and improve the Industry's understanding this requirements. There will be no opportunity for vendor booth set-up.
