- Description
- Amendment 0002 The Federal Bureau of Prisons (Bureau), Central Office, Administration Division, Acquisitions Branch, National Acquisitions Section, located in Washington, DC anticipates issuance of solicitation for the possible award of an Indefinite-Delivery, Requirement type contract with firm-fixed unit pricing for boiler inspection at 122 institutions throughout the contiguous United States, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The contract shall consist of a Base Year and four 12 month option years for renewal. This national contract is being established to ensure the quality and uniformity of required boiler inspection services throughout the Bureau of Prisons facilities. The Contractor shall furnish the necessary services, personnel and materials to inspect an estimated number of boilers. The boilers operate at high/low pressure steam and high/low temperature hot water. Boilers are operated and maintained by the Bureau. DEFINITIONS: TYPES OF INSPECTIONS TYPE A: Visual internal and external inspections. TYPE B: Visual internal inspection and external inspection while under hydrostatic test. TYPE C: External inspection during normal operating conditions. TYPE D: External inspection while under hydrostatic test. TYPE E: Visual internal and external inspection of other types of pressure vessels (expansion tanks, deaerators, condensate tanks, etc.). If an internal inspection cannot be performed, the external inspection shall take place during normal operating conditions.
