Description

Contract is to replace existing Ignitron Based Crowbar System with Solid State Crowbar circuits. They are designed to replace the 1950's vintage Ignitron devices that are presently in use to protect the high-power tubes in the large Very Low Frequency (VLF) transmitters that are part of the Fixed Submarine Broadcast System (FSBS). The newly developed Solid State Crowbar was initiated at SSC PAC as an NISE (Naval Innovative Science and Engineering) program.
