- The Forest Service anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price construction contract to renovate Building 26 at Historic Fort Missoula to be the new Regional Office building for the Northern Region. This is the third of three phases to renovate this building. This procurement is being set-aside 100% for small business. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supplies (other than for those listed as Government-furnished items) and supervision necessary to include all new mechanical, electrical, fire sprinkler and energy upgrades for Building 26. Construction services shall include but not be limited to the following: •Demolition and remodeling of the basement level of Building 26 at Historic Fort Missoula. •This project is Phase 3, the final phase of a multiphase project. Project includes a full scale demolition and removal of the buildings existing finishes, including its mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The Phase 3 mechanical, electrical, fire sprinkler systems will require tie-in with Phase 2. This is the final phase and includes miscellaneous items to wrap up and finalize completion of all previous phased work in Building 26. •The Project includes the mill and overlay, paving and preparation of the wareyard parking area. •The Project shall be certified under the "Green Globe" Certification system, Green Globe Level 2. Refer to Specification Section 018113 Sustainable Design Requirements. •Materials and products for the Project shall be compliant with the federal government "Buy American Requirement". •Building 26 is recognized as a contributing historic structure within the Fort Missoula Historic District, a Historic Site, on the National Register of Historic Place. Protect the Nation Register Listed building and the surrounding area. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 236220 commercial and institutional building construction and the small business size standard is $36.5 million, set-aside 100% for small business. The solicitation package will be available approximately on May 18, 2016 and should be downloaded from this website at that time. No hard copies will be mailed out. The work is estimated to begin August 15, 2016 for 240 calendar days which is approximately April 12, 2017. The construction magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Only one site visit is scheduled for this project which will be June 7, 2016 meeting on the front steps of Building 26 at Fort Missoula at 10:00 a.m. local time with no additional site visits planned. It is a requirement that all interested parties shall wear hard hats and safety vests on the site and none will be provided by the Government.
