- Description
- In accordance with FAR subpart 6.302-1(c) (ii), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole contract to John Wiley & Sons. The American Cancer Society (ACS) is one of the oldest and largest, most influential community-based organizations dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major public health concern. With more than two million volunteers nationwide and 3,400 local offices working to carry out the society's mission, ACS is committed to excellence in cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient services. As the official publication of ACS, Cancer is a peer-reviewed publication internationally known as one of the leading journals in the field of oncology. The goal of Cancer is to provide an interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of information among all. This supplement will reach the journal's circulation of thousands of subscribers, thereby better marketing and increasing awareness of the impact and effectiveness of the NCPR and NCCCP. The supplement will contribute to professional development and increase awareness among providers. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Chronic Disease, and Division of Cancer Prevention and Control (CDC/NCCD/DCPC) will provide the majority of the featured articles and will organize the overall supplement effort specialties and disciplines. The vendor shall provide all services to perform the following tasks: (1) perform initial editorial services of the manuscripts and (2) final layout of the articles. The vendor shall also provide copies of the 2017 supplement on the NPCR to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It is the understanding of the Government that an award to any other source would cause unacceptable delays in meeting the requirements of the Government. Interested parties who feel that they possess the capabilities to provide the services described above should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to provide the services. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive requirement. Please send your documentation to Deborah Workman by fax (770) 488-2889, or email to atl7@cdc.gov. Documentation should be received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis to be considered by CDC. A determination by the CDC not to compete this proposed contract, based upon responses to this notification, is solely within discretion of the government.
