- SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE Melvin Price Lock and Dam Elevator Repair and Maintenance This is a Sources Sought Notice. This Sources Sought neither constitutes a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach. This Sources Sought should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. This Sources Sought Notice is in support of a market survey being conducted by the St. Louis District, Corps of Engineers to identify interested Contractors within the District area for the Scope of Work listed below. The following are general capabilities required to perform the Scope of Work according to USACE standards. The Contractor must be capable to perform the Scope of Work listed below. General Project Description: The Melvin Price Lock and Dam is located in Madison County at #1 Lock and Dam Way, East Alton, Illinois on the Mississippi River, approximately 1.5 miles southeast of the Clark Bridge. It contains five (5) elevators: Abutment (0) and Piers 1, 3, 4 and 11. The last inspection of the elevators except Pier 11 was November 2014. Pier 11 was last inspected in March 2015. A.) Work Statement - Melvin Price Lock and Dam, East Alton, Illinois, 62024 Elevator repair and maintenance: The pending work required herein consists of the Contractor furnishing all necessary personnel, supervision, equipment, inspection, incidentals, supplies, testing, tools, facilities, transportation, materials and vehicles necessary to assure that all services necessary to perform elevator repair and maintenance, so that the elevators are working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. All work performed shall be in accordance with (IAW) all applicable laws, regulations, codes, or directives. The work requires the Contractor to repair and maintain five (5) elevators; one (1) hydraulic and four (4) traction. The services required are in addition to the routine operation and maintenance performed by Government personnel; however, the Government reserves the right to perform any or all of the services described herein with its own personnel or alternative procurement methods. The Contractor shall repair, modification, rehabilitation, and maintenance coverage including examinations, cleaning, painting, lubrication, adjusting, parts replacement, repairs and testing on all parts of the elevator equipment. B.) Capability Statements: Note: Under capability statements below, in addition to listing general experience, specifically include a listing of any USACE projects on which you demonstrated the required capability. 1. Briefly explain your experience with elevator maintenance/Inspections/Servicing. 2. Briefly explain your experience with elevator repair services, to include repair of failed parts/systems; installation of parts. 3. Briefly explain your experience with safety, annual, and load testing of elevators. 4. Briefly explain your experience with troubleshooting elevators. C.)
