- BEP-RFI-16-0319 (Ink Abrasion Resistance Rub Tester) This is NOT a request for bids, quotes, or proposal. This is a sources sought announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified businesses. Interested parties of any size may submit a response to this notice. Description: The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), located at 14th and C Streets, SW, Washington D.C. requests information on an Ink Abrasion Resistance Rub Tester. The BEP performs rub testing of printed samples to determine the abrasion resistance of currency inks, and seeks information about ink rub testers designed to test the abrasion resistance of inks printed on paper or other substrates.
