- SOLICITATION DESCRIPTION: Request for Quotations for paving bridge approaches at Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort, approximately 40 miles west of Port Angeles, WA in Olympic National Park. The intent of this project is to fine grade and pave approximately 30 linear feet of bridge approach on both sides of the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort bridge and to construct asphalt curb and sidewalk ramps adjacent to the bridge. The asphalt paving is necessary to complete bridge abutment repairs performed in 2015 by Olympic National Park (ONP) staff. The contractor will fine grade the existing crushed rock driving surface for proper drainage and crown using a motor grader or other heavy equipment in order to add or remove up to four-inches of 5/8-inch minus gravel to the roadway prior to paving. Contractor will be responsible for loading, hauling, placing and fine grading the roadway using 5/8-inch minus gravel stockpiled by ONP at the Sol Duc maintenance yard. Following fine grading the contractor will machine-place two-inches of hot mix asphalt (Approx 181 square yards) on the crushed rock surface. Additionally the contractor will construct asphalt ramps from the ends of existing sidewalk and 4-inch high asphalt curbs to direct storm water away from the bridge abutment sideslopes. Click the title to open the overview page, where on the right-side are all of the attachments including the Standard Form 1442. SITE VISIT. An organized site visit has been scheduled for Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 2pm (PST). Interested contractors shall meet in the parking lot of the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort in Olympic National Park. Parking at the resort is free. Physical address to the resort is 12076 Sol Duc Hot Springs Road, Port Angeles, WA 98363. The resort is approximately 40 miles from downtown Port Angeles. Head west on U.S. Highway 101 then turn off onto Sol Duc Hot Springs Road. We will congregate in the parking lot, and then walk to the bridge site. Plan at least one hour on-site. Attendance at the site visit is encouraged, but not mandatory. Refer to L.2 of Attachment 3, Terms and Conditions, for full site visit details and instructions. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE for this project is 30 calendar days, anticipated from mid-June 2016 to mid-July 2016. Refer to Section F.2 of solicitation Attachment no. 3. OTHER INFO. All work will be performed under a single contract. This project is being solicited and awarded as a total (100%) Small Business Set-Aside in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 19.502-2. The NAICS code is 237310, Highway, Street, Bridge Construction, with an associate small business size standard of $36.5 million. Magnitude of Construction is less than $25,000. It is the responsibility of the offerors to monitor the FBO and FedConnect websites to download all amendments and attachments which may also be issued against the solicitation prior to the solicitation's closing date.
