- Purpose: The Army Contracting Command (ACC) New Jersey, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 is conducting a Market Survey on behalf of the Joint Program Manager Office Towed Artillery Systems (JPMO-TAS) to identify potential sources for the purchase of the Muzzle Velocity Sensor System (MVSS) for the M777A2 and M119A3 Howitzers. Description: This Sources Sought is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or an obligation on the part of JPMO-TAS or RDECOM-ARDEC. The MVSS is a Tactical Muzzle Velocity Radar system unit capable of measuring muzzle velocity of fired artillery projectiles and operates on the Doppler principle. The NSN 8145-01-618-4602, MVSS Kit and NSN 8145-01-621-5674, MVSS Component Kit is currently fielded on the M777A2 and M119A3 Howitzers. The MVSS is manufactured and repaired in accordance with the requirements in Performance Specification PRF13022789. All interested vendors are requested to provide: 1. Statement of capability describing the vendor's capability to provide the MVSS Kit and Component Parts including lead times and the location where the work will be performed. 2. Rough Order Magnitude Cost to provide supplies/services. 3. Rough Order Magnitude scheduled to provide supplies/services. 4. The Technical Documentation for this procurement will be Distribution D and Offerors will be required to fill out DD Form 2345 prior to receipt of technical data related to this sources sought. Submissions of designs that are not fully compliant with all requirements are also encouraged so that JPMO-TAS and RDECOM-ARDEC may assess the capabilities of all currently available sources. The Government recognizes that proprietary and/or classified data may be a part of this effort. If so, clearly mark such restricted/proprietary and classified data and present them as an addendum to the nonrestricted/non-proprietary and unclassified information. As a result of this Sources Sought a Request for Proposal (RFP) may be issued to acquire the MVSS Kit and MVSS Component Parts Kit. Participation in this Sources Sought is completely voluntary by the vendor and as such all costs to develop the vendor's response are to be borne by the participating vendor.
