Description
Modification to Solicitation 16T0204 with posted contractor questions and answers. Q1: Is Forever Lawn the only brand to be accepted? If not, what is an acceptable alternative? A1: Any artificial lawn and its associated padding that meets the criteria in the statement of wotk will be considered as an acceptable alternative. Q2: Does the requirement for an ASTM 1292 fall rating of 9' include the grass and a padding layer, or does the grass need the rating? A2: The use of a foam or other fall-safe layer under the grass is acceptable. Q3: Some of the grass colors come with a 'heat blocker' built into them. Is a material with this heat blocker acceptable in place of a light colored grass? A3: Yes. The purpose of the light color is to keep the surface from getting too hot. If the grass has a heat blocking element, then a darker color is acceptable. However, the color of the grass will still need to be submitted to the Contracting Officer Representative for approval prior to purchase and installation. Q4: Can a section of the fence be removed in order to provide access for a small excavator? A4: Yes. Section 1.1.2.1.1 of the Statement of Work states that "if existing playground equipment or fence will interfere with the demolition or construction, the contractor shall be responsible for removing and reinstalling it."
