Description

DRAFT Statement of Work The Library of Congress requires the design, fabrication, testing, and installation of two (2) specialized display cases that will enable the Library to put exceptional and high value objects on long-term display. The case requirements are described in detail in the accompanying DRAFT Statement of Work and include specialized security, environmental and fire protection features to ensure the safety and longevity of the Gutenberg and Mainz Bibles. The display case design must be compatible with the surrounding Great Hall of the Library's Thomas Jefferson building and must be constructed in a manner that allows ready access to these important collection assets in the case of emergency. Repair and maintenance services during the contract period of performance and the demonstrated ability to continue providing repair and maintenance services over the life of the units are required. Dismantling and disposition of the existing Bible cases is anticipated for solicitation as an optional Contract Line Item Number (CLIN). Minimum one-year warranty required as detailed in the DRAFT Statement of Work. Anticipated RFP release date: On or about 23 May 2016 Anticipated RFP closing date: On or about 20 June 2016 Anticipated site visit: Approximately 3-5 calendar days following RFP release Anticipated formal question and answer period: Approximately one week following site visit
