- Attached is the State taxability spreadsheet that contains the Universal Classification Codes (UCC), UCC expenditure category and States. The test file directions and zip codes are attached for the test data of Sales Tax Deduction Calculator. The Internal Revenue Service requires data for general sales tax tables and sales tax deduction calculator for tax year 2016. The Internal Revenue Service is seeking Sales Tax Data, both State and Local, for the purpose of developing data that the Office of Research needs to create general sales tax tables and to update the sales tax deduction calculator for IRS.gov. United States tax law requires publication of State and Local general sales tax tables for taxpayers who are eligible to deduct State and local sales taxes. The IRS will use State and Local sales tax data for Tax Year 2016 to prepare these tables for the 2017 filing season. The purpose of this notice is to receive capability statements and gain knowledge of potential responsible small business concerns that can meet the Government's requirement in accordance with the statement of work and sample sales tax data. The Government's determination on how to compete the proposed requirement will be made based on responses to this notice and is at the sole discretion of the Government. This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This Request for Information (RFI) is for information and planning purposes only. This RFI is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contractual agreement, nor will the Government pay for information submitted in response to this RFI. Potential sources who believe they can meet the Government's requirement are invited to submit a request in writing to Faith Ashton at faith.m.ashton@irs.gov no later than 12:00 p.m. on May 16, 2016.
