Description

J and A Combined Synopsis/Solicitation DLA has a requirement to provide path diversity at the New Cumberland ETN site via two 622.08 Mb (OC12) circuits from New Cumberland to Mechanicsburg. Once the circuits are delivered at Mechanicsburg, they will be routed across the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) to the Columbus and Hill AFB ETN hub sites. There is a single commercial demark at New Cumberland (5014 Mission Drive, Bldg 14). The only vendor which can provide a diverse fiber path off of the site is Frontier. Frontier has installed a full fiber ring between New Cumberland and Mechanicsburg, offering diverse paths for two separate circuits. All other vendors have only a single fiber path out of New Cumberland, introducing a single point of failure to the DLA network. DISA does not have a contract with Frontier to utilize Frontier's fiber ring to provide path diversity.
