- This is a Sources Sought Notice. Network 23 Contracting Office (NCO 23) seeks Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) interested in the project described below. Interested contractors please contact the Contracting Officer via email to michael.reed1@va.gov with subject header exactly as follows: Interested Contractor _ VA263-16-R-0522 Submit email expressing interest in the project not later than 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 23 2016. Please include any questions about the project. Project Description: Due to excessive flooding of our electrical manholes (which also overflows into the main hospital) from heavy rain and melting snow, we need to install sump pumps in three manholes. The manholes have electrical conductors rated at 13,800 volts that feed the entire hospital. The submersion of these cables on a constant basis will break down the insulation of the cables and cause a fault and loss of power. The following are requirements for the project: Install float system in each manhole; Install a manual and automatic switch capable of being locked out in the nearest building (where power is supplied from); Install a high level warning light and audible alarm on the nearest building; Install a metal sign with "Call ATS Shop When in Alarm;" Provide drain system ( directional bore) to nearest storm sewer; Provide all equipment, switching and disconnects installed with permanent marking to annotate location from which power is fed (building number-room number- panel number circuit number): Site restoration shall be complete at the end of project All work must be accomplished with all OSHA and VA safety policies adhered to while working around energized 13,800 volts. Project location is the campus of the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN, 55417. This is not a solicitation. No award shall be made directly resulting from this Sources Sought Notice.
