Description

Notice of Intent to Sole Source Requirement The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Bedford Healthcare System, intends to negotiate a sole source contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source to Schmidt Equipment Inc. for preventative maintenance and repairs of John Deere construction equipment needed for the Bedford VA Medical Center. This contract will commence on May 16, 2016 through May15, 2017. The applicable NAICS code is 811310. The FSC/PSC is J038. Contract will include FAR 52.217-8 Option to extend the term of the contract for up to four additional option years at the discretion of the VA. Schmidt Equipment Inc. is a Small Business and is the only known small business in New England that is certified to repair John Deere construction equipment including loaders and backhoes in conjunction with the manufacturer's standards in the state of Massachusetts. A firm fixed price contract with the potential of four option years is anticipated and shall be awarded. It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate with only this source. This is not a Request for Proposal. If other small business companies in New England can provide an equal service for the Bedford VA Medical Centers, vendors must submit their technical capabilities, to include, technical specifications of their product, past performance information, price and delivery time. This information will be reviewed by the Government's technical representatives for consideration for future requirements. Email statements are preferred. Statements are due no later than May 12, 2016. Phone inquiries will not be accepted. This is not a solicitation; it is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source requirement.
