- This is a notice of intent to increase the ceiling of Contract N66001-15-C-4009 awarded on behalf of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Strategic Technologies Office (DARPA STO) for a performance period of approximately 15 months. The effort under the contract is in support of the DARPA STO Program, Tactical Undersea Network Architectures (TUNA). The DARPA STO TUNA Program involves development and demonstration of rapidly deployable buoy node designs and component technologies that will interconnect the tactical data network and the undersea fiber optic network and function as relays and energy sources. They should be rapidly deployable from existing platforms and have plug, play and operate functionality with tactical data and undersea fiber optic networks. This contract provides for development and demonstration of rapidly deployable buoy node designs and component technologies. Under this additional effort, the contractor shall generate dynamic simulations of TUNA buoys, tune the model, collect field data, and increase efficiency and viability of power generation. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541712 Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology). Due to the nature of Research and Development efforts, DARPA STO could not have reasonably estimated the results and/or need for additional research under this program. This action includes a ceiling increase of approximately $58,408 and an additional one (1) month of performance. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes, however, interested parties may submit comments in writing to the contract specialist, Mr. Barry Jones, Code 22530, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Pacific who may be reached by telephone at (215) 697-0275 or via email to robert.b.jones1@navy.mil. This notice will be posted for five (5) days. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
