DFAS Limestone, Maine -VariDesk Pro Plus 36 Desk Risers -Name Brand Only This is a combined synopsis/solicitation (RFQ) for the purchase of 250 VariDesk Pro Plus Desk Risers for DFAS located in Limestone, Maine in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This will be a firm fixed-price contract type. NAICS code for this announcement is 337211 with small business size standard 1000 employees. A J& A for Brand Name Only has been approved and will be posted to FedBizOpps. SOLICITATION CLOSING DATE : All quotes must be received by: 1:00 p.m. (EST) May 23, 2016. Preferred delivery method for submission of your quote is via email : diane.m.hulett.civ@mail.mil. Describe the supply or service to be acquired and the total estimated dollar value : Purchase 250 VARIDESK Pro Plus 36 adjustable desktop risers per SOW. IGCE is $355.50 per unit for a total of $88,875 delivered to DFAS Limestone, Maine 04751. 5. Justification : This is the final phase of three purchases of the Varidesk Pro Plus 36 to complete our requirement at DFAS LI. Currently we have 215 of the Varidesk ergo risers which fit our Systems 21 cubical(s)without modification to the station tops of overhead file drawers. We have demonstrated other comparable models and the Varidesk pro Plus 36 was the only model which accommodated our current cubical configuration of a laptop and two 19 monitors, without overhang and safety pinch points. We ordered an UPLIFT Height Adjustable Sit Stand Desk with the wedge counter top from The Human Solution, to use with our Systems 21 UNICOR G-Type Cubical workstations on the floor. Unfortunately, with our carpeted floors, the stand-alone unit was too unstable when raised above 45 inches. Also, the UPLift unit presented "Pinch Points" on both sides when lowered back to the level position. Also, we researched the ERGOTRON WorkFit-TL Sit-Stand Desktop Workstation, however, it was not wide enough to accommodate our current configuration of a Docking-Station, Laptop and Two 19" Monitors which comfortably fits on the VARIDESK. The same products we tested for our first requirement are still on the market. These risers are moved around a lot as employees move to different sections of the facility and standardization of one type riser would ensure 100 percent continuity with equipment placement on the risers. Furthermore, DFAS Limestone currently uses the Varidesk Pro Plus 36 desk riser and this would ensure standardization throughout the facility. 6. Describe your market research efforts and efforts to ensure that offers are solicited from as many potential sources as is practicable : The Market Research conducted for our initial order and led us to the Varidesk configuration is still true for our environment today as it was in 2014; HQ0423-14-P-0054 and in 2015; HQ0423-15-P-0054. The market research shows many desk convers for the sit/stand concept some lower priced and others higher priced. The Varidesk is a mid-priced model that fits the standards developed based on the factors at Limestone that include safety, compatibility with existing furniture, mobility and a median price.
