- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA has a requirement for project 693-16-912 Replace Bldg 1 Transformers. This project consists of, but not necessarily be limited to, providing all supervision, engineering, labor, materials, tools, equipment, testing and adjustments required for the removal and disposal of three existing liquid-filled medium voltage substation transformers and replacement with three new dry-type medium voltage substation transformers at three existing secondary unit substations; medium and low voltage equipment modifications required at each existing secondary unit substation to accept the new replacement transformers; training of VA personnel on the use of newly installed electrical distribution equipment; and removal and disposal of two existing abandoned dry type transformers located in the main building electrical vault rooms at the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center. The magnitude of this VA construction project is estimated to be between $250,000 and $500,000. Period of Performance will be approximately 272 calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. All work on this project must be accomplished between 7:00 PM and 4:00 AM Monday through Friday. Set-Aside Information: This solicitation is to be issued as a 100% service-disabled veteran small business set aside (SDVOSB). The firm must be small business under relevant North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code and the must be registered and current in the following websites: www.ccr.gov and www.vetbiz.gov. Offerors must ensure registrations in these websites are not expired and are correct, current and valid. The NAICS code for this project is 237130 - Power and Communication Line and Related Structure Construction, and the small business size standard is $36.5 Million. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be held within two weeks after issuance of the solicitation. The exact date/time/location of the conference will be specified in the solicitation. The solicitation documents will be posted at the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fbo.gov) on or about June 2nd, 2016.
