Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Contracting Office intends to issue a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements with Leica Microsystems Inc. for Software Maintenance on the Scan Scope AT. This requirement will include the following characteristics: Product Description ScanScope is an automated whole slide digital scanner. Salient Characteristics The equipment is designed to rapidly scan histology slides. It stores high resolution scans, which can then be analyzed with the included Image Scope software. Scanned images can be retained indefinitely in digital format. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than 5/23/2016, C.O.B. Responses should be sent to Harold.nice@va.gov. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. This purchase will be made under simplified acquisition procedures as authorized by FAR 13-106-1(b).
