Description
J&A DRAFT SOW The Library of Congress (Library) requires a contract to support the Preservation Directorate who seeks to purchase an automated custom protective enclosure system to support a large-scale effort to provide custom-size protective enclosures for bound volumes and other items in the general, reference, and special collections that are intrinsically value, important, special format, fragile, or brittle. In library terminology, the piece of equipment to be purchased is often called an automated protective enclosure or boxing system; other terms include sample maker or cutting system. These machines consist of a plotting / cutting surface; the corrugated board or other flat materials to be cut and/or creased is held in place via vacuum suction (necessitating an appropriate and attached vacuum pump / blower). Cutting and creasing activities are powered by a pneumatic system (necessitating an appropriate and attached air compressor) and consist of a drag knife, an oscillating knife, and a creasing or scoring tool. LOC intends to issue this requirement as a sole source purchase order the Conservation-By-Design Limited located in the United Kingdom. Any firm that wishes to be considered for this requirement must submit a capability statement that demonstrates its ability to meet all the requirements described in the attached draft SOW. The capability statement must not exceed five (5) double-spaced pages and shall include the following information: 1) Company Name, DUNS Number, Address, Point of Contact, phone number and email address; 2) Corporate structure (corporation, LLC, sole proprietorship, partnership, limited liability partnership, professional corporation, etc.); 3) References, including name, phone number and email address of individuals who can verify the demonstrated capabilities identified in the responses.
