Description
PRESOLICITATION This project involves the construction of just over ½ (.6) mile of relocation at MP 3.0 on a long distance non-motorized, multiple use trail. Work includes the clearing, grubbing, excavation and embankment, switchbacks, and armored drainage structures. Option Item #1 is the supply and installation of 660 linear feet of imported surfacing. Option Item #2 involves the removal and isposal of 1 - 30' glu - laminated beam stock bridge (penta treated stringers, treated decking, and treated handrail posts). One stringer is cracked and broken, the other is intact. All of the treated material will be removed and disposed of. This bridge will not be part of the new trail location. The contractor will be responsible for the purchase of all materials, mobilization, and construction of all portions of the project. Mountain bicycles and pack animals are allowed on this trail. Helicopters and blasting have noise timing restrictions. Bonding in required (Payment Bond upon Contract Award). This project is located on the Snoqualmie Ranger District/North Bend Area, of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. From Seattle or Bellevue, take I-90 east and take exit #34. Drive north on 468th Avenue. In 0.6 miles, turn right onto SE Middle Fork Road (Forest Service Road #56) The large and well-marked Middle Fork trailhead parking lot is on the right side of the road at 11.5 miles. Hike the Middle Fork Trail 3.0 miles to the beginning of the proposed relocation. The broken bridge is a just beyond the beginning of the relocation.
