- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division, is seeking potential sources who are interested in providing level-of-effort technical repair services in support of MK45 Gun Mount maintenance and alteration activities. Execution of these of activities are expected to occur at shipboard (Pierside and deployed) and land-based locations world-wide, with the majority of these activities conducted at USN fleet concentration areas. This is a sources sought synopsis issued for informational and planning purposes only. This synopsis neither constitutes a Request for Proposal (RFP), nor does it bind the Government to any particular acquisition approach. This synopsis should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. Requests for solicitation will not receive a response. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any input as a result of this market survey. The U.S. Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. Item Description/Specification For the purposes of this Sources Sought, major caliber gun systems maintenance and alteration activities include the following: •· - Execution of waterfront and shore maintenance to include repair and emergent technical support of major caliber gun systems on U.S. Navy Cruisers and Destroyers. •· - Ordnance Alteration installation services in support of Alteration Installation Teams (AITs). •· - Land-based Overhaul/Repair of major caliber gun systems and/or components (such as MK63 Weathershields) in support of pier-side maintenance, AIT activities, or emergent fleet failures. •· - Installation and Removal of major caliber gun systems on U.S Navy Cruisers, Destroyers and shore facilities. Proposal Requirements All interested sources that are capable of meeting the above requirements are invited to indicate their interest by providing the U.S. Government the following information: •a) a) A description of the item(s) that may be offered, should the government pursue procurement of these services. •b) b) Any and all past performance in providing the requested and/or similar services, •c) c) A description of the respondent's technical and manufacturing/overhaul capabilities, •d) d) A description of the respondent's facilities capable of supporting overhaul, repair, and installation/upgrade of naval systems and components removed from U.S. Navy ships. •e) e) A description of the respondent's quality plan, including methods for flowing quality requirements to sub-vendors, •f) f) A description of the respondent's safety plan and any additional safety certificates, •g) g) Company size (please identify as either Large, Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Woman-Owned Small Business, Historically Underutilized Business Zone concern, Veteran-Owned Small Business, or Service-Disabled Small Business). Please identify any proprietary information submitted All interested sources shall also provide the organization name, address, point of contact, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, taxpayer identification number, DUNS number, and CAGE Code. Method of Delivery All interested sources must submit their responses no later than COB at 4:00pm EST on 28 June 2016.
