Description
ADDED 26 May 16 ********************QUESTIONS/ANSWERS********************** Question 1. The specifications of the SOW indicate a cantilevered-design platform. Would a non-cantilever-type solution be considered if it met or exceeded the operational requirements? Answer 1: No, the platforms must be a mechanical cantilever type. Question 2. The SOW specifies that the motion be controlled by means of a PLC. It appears that the current "newer" units on the floor may simply employ limit switches and relays; is this acceptable for the new systems, or is computer control mandatory? Answer 2: The platforms must be pushbutton operated and PLC controlled. Question 3. What will be the operational voltage supplied for powering the lifting mechanism? Answer 3: 480V, 3-phase is available at the electrical bus. Question 4. The 6 inches per second travel speed seems to be somewhat excessive when moving a large platform that interfaces closely with very expensive engines. Is that actually what has been determined to be the optimal speed of travel? Would a variable frequency drive be desirable that would allow speeds "as high as" 6"/sec, but could be moved at a much slower rate when practical? Answer 4: It would be acceptable for the speed to be adjustable if the 30ft/min can be met.
