- Description
- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Contracting and General Services in Falls Church, VA intends to award a purchase order to Trustees of Tifts College, Inc at 136 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA 02111 for wildlife disease laboratory services. These services will help the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service ¿s Natural Resources Program Center to help meet its objectives to establish wildlife health baselines, identify existing and emerging wildlife health and disease risks, ensure disease preparedness and prevention through staff training, and develop, guide, and implement appropriate and effective management actions. In order to be successful in accomplishing our objectives, the Wildlife Health Office must rely on the services of laboratories capable of providing diagnostic, field, and training assistance in each region. The Northeast Wildlife Disease Cooperative (NWDC), based at Tufts University ¿s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, has been identified as a key resource for providing these services in the Northeastern United States. NWDC was established in 2012 and is growing to become a versatile, multipurpose wildlife disease research and service organization that provides wildlife health and research services to both state and federal agencies. NWDC is the only laboratory network of its kind located in the Northeastern United States, and its program is not duplicated by any existing State or Federal Laboratory or Agency. This requirement is for a Base Year plus four Option Years. The proposed contract is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). All responsible sources may identify their interest and capability for this requirement by responding to this announcement. All proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
