- RFI This is a Request for Information (RFI) for market research purposes only. The 325th Contracting Squadron, Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, is seeking to gather information on the capabilities of companies within the industrial base to provide heavy duty marine diesel propulsion engines, marine reverse gears, propeller shafts, and propellers sold as a package, to include installation, for repowering three (3) Swiftships, Inc.120 ft. 1988 Missile Retrievers (MR). The Government is seeking information on the most current and reliable propulsion systems that can be procured and installed as a complete package. A complete package includes engines, reverse gears, engine control systems, propeller shafts, props, installation, fabrication, marine survey and all engineering required. Additionally, the Government would require the package and all work performed to include extended warranties on the propulsion and reverse gear units for up to 5 years with a warranty repair response time IAW industry standards. Contractors would also be required to provide maintenance training for up to eight (8) maintainers for familiarization/upkeep and intermediate maintenance of the propulsion systems and associated components. Training is required to be in two separate groups and complete within two weeks of installation. Disclaimer: This RFI is issued solely to survey the maritime industrial base for informational and acquisition planning purposes. It does not obligate the Government in anyway nor does it constitute a solicitation (Request for Proposal) or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. We are seeking, and are open to, information from all types of business categories. As stipulated in FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not considered offers, shall not be used as a proposal, and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. This RFI is a non-binding notice and does not commit the Government to contract for any product/service whatsoever. Furthermore, the Government is not seeking proposals at this time. Any potential procurement action resulting from the information obtained through this RFI will be the subject of an actual solicitation. Responders are advised that response to this RFI in strictly voluntary and the Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this notice. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the responding party's expense. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary, restricted or competition sensitive information contained in their response. ***Please see Attached RFI for further details***
