Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, 1500 Weiss Street, Saginaw, Michigan, 48604 anticipates soliciting bids and consequently awarding a contract for the construction project known as "Bldg. 1 Renovation." The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 (SEALED BIDDING) and Part 36 (CONSTRUCTION) and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The solicitation will be advertised as a Total Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, supplies, travel, etc. to perform all work under this project which consists of: STATEMENT OF WORK BLDG. 1 RENOVATION VA PROJECT NO.: 655-10-106 The purpose of this project is for the Contractor to Furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision necessary to perform work for renovations to building 1 corridor's floors 1 through 5 and service areas located on floors 1, 2 and 3 (approximately 39,977 ft ²) in Building No. 1 as required by drawings and specifications. Contractor shall remove all existing utilities, walls, window ac units, mechanical equipment as required to renovate the space to meet the VA Design standard for VA medical dental suits, respiratory, urgent care, staff offices and specialty clinics. Contractor shall install new energy efficient HVAC systems and associated duct work and controls. Work includes demolition, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and structural work. The period of performance is 540 calendar days for the entire project. Magnitude of construction is expected to be $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. NAICS Code for this acquisition is 236220. The solicitation documents including specifications and drawings will be issued on or about 7-12-2016 and will be posted on Federal Business Opportunities. This date is subject to change. Hard copy documents including drawings will not be available - all documents for bidding purposes will be posted at this website for download. Site visit information will be provided upon issuance of solicitation. Only one site visit is planned. Bids will be due 30 days after issuance of solicitation unless extended by amendment. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for submission of offers. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice.
