Description

STATEMENT OF WORK Certified Preventive Maintenance on Hill-Rom Beds Background The VA requires a preventive maintenance contract to provide labor and material necessary for 80 Advanta 2 and 114 Versa Care Hill-Rom beds located throughout the medical center. This maintenance is a Joint Commission requirement. This will be an option contract, base plus four option years. Task or Requirements The vendor will perform the following: 1.JOINT COMMISSION DOCUMENTATION CERTIFYING ELECTRICAL SAFETY "Record leakage and resistance "Inspect power cord and line filter for damage 2.INSPECT OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS: "Side rail and patient controls and switches "Bed movements, head articulation, foot retract/articulation, hi-low, chair and auto contour feature "Side rail latching "Side rail dampeners and cables "Brake and steer "CPR "Emergency Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg "Lockout controls "Air surface zones and functional "Bed exit/patient positioning monitor "Scale (operates and settable to zero) "Nurse call/communications functions "TotalCare SpO2RT percussion, vibration and rotation modules "Indicators; LED and graphical interfaces "TotalCare Treatment surface control modules "Air blowers 3.VISUALLY INSPECT: "Overall appearance (e.g., headboard, footboard, side rails) "Leaks "Labels are readable (control and warning labels) "Casters "Surface ticking and bladders for punctures and tears "Internal mattress components (bladders, hoses) "Inside of surfaces for fluids, moisture and strains 4.CALIBRATE AND ADJUST: "Scale "Air surface pressures "Angle/elevation limits, head articulation, foot retrace/articulation, hi-low chair, Auto Contour feature "Hydraulic tank fluid 5.CLEAN/DEGREASE/LUBRICATE: "Drive screws, brakes, pivot points "Air system filters "Treatment surface control modules 6.IMPROVE APPEARANCE: "Paint touch ups "Replace labels and plastic parts (i.e., roller bumpers) 7.DOCUMENTATION "Joint Commission requirements 8.ELECTRICAL SAFETY CERTIFICATION "Measure leakage and resistance "Inspect power cord and line filter for damage 9.FUNCTIONAL INSPECTIONS "Ensure bed features and external components are functional 10.INSPECTING INTERNAL COMPONENTS "Air blowers, mattress bladders and hoses "Check mattress interior for moisture or stains 11.INSPECTING/ADJUSTING MOVEMENT LIMITS "Trendelenburg, Auto Contour feature, chair, hi-low, head articulation, foot retraction/articulation, bed exit system "Hydraulic tank fluid level 12.CALIBRATION "Scale, air surface zones 13.CLEANING/DEGREASING/LUBRICATION "Drive screws, brakes, pivot points "Air system filter (replace as necessary) "Treatment surface control modules 14.INPROVING APPEARANCE "Paint touch ups "Replace labels and plastic parts Other Criteria Work shall be performed with qualified and certified Hill-Rom technician and representatives. This work must be coordinated and scheduled with the Plumbing Shop Foreman at 215-823-4127. Term/Warranty The term of the service contract shall be for 1 year with 4 option years following. The contract shall be provided for at least a 1 year manufacturer's warranty on all parts and labor. The contract shall include all travel and shipping costs associated with any warranty repairs. Place of Performance All work will be performed at the VA Medical Center, 3900 Woodland Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19104, Monday through Friday, 7am until 4pm.
