DESCRIPTION: The 366 th Contracting Squadron at Mountain Home AFB is seeking potential sources interested in providing all management, transportation, labor, parts, materials, individual tools and equipment necessary to REPLACE PROPANE TANK FLOATS/GAUGES located at three (3) of the Mountain Home Air Force Base Range Sites, which include Grasmere Electronic Combat (EC) Site, Saylor Creek Range, and Juniper Butte. Two (2) of the tanks at Grasmere EC site have a volume of approximately 1,000 gallons each. The third tank has a volume of approximately 250 gallons. The two (2) tanks at Saylor Creek Range are approximately 500 gallons each. The four (4) tanks at Juniper Butte are approximately 1,000 gallons each. All gauge types of each tank are electric and the float types are classified as junior. Grasmere EC Site is located at Grasmere, Idaho, Owyhee County, 83604. Saylor Creek Range is located at Bruneau, Idaho, Owyhee County, 83604. Juniper Butte is located at Juniper Butte Annex Range, Owyhee County, 83604. OBJECTIVE: Mountain Home AFB requires that technicians are properly trained and licensed to make repairs required in the Statement of Work. The contractor will access each tank to determine the size of the tank(s) and appropriate style and size of floats requiring replacement. The need to assess the tanks is pertinent because the different dimensions can alter the type of float system installed in each tank. Following initial assessment the contractor shall as necessary pump off all remaining propane in the tank, and then remove the existing gauge/indicator from existing float and save for reinstallation. After removal of the float install a new properly sized float for each particular tank. Following the installation of the new float the contractor shall properly reinstall the electronic gauge/indicator with the previously existing gauge/indicator. Any tank having propane removed prior to replacement of its float shall have the propane returned following replacement of float and gauge. The contractor shall verify with the 366 th Civil Engineer Squadron, Electronic Controls Monitoring Systems shop that a signal is being sent and received from the indicator. Any abnormality resulting in non-functionality shall be reported and repaired. If it is determined the gauge is not properly indicating the float position then the gauge shall be replaced with a new gauge capable of providing an electronic signal to the monitoring system. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this effort is 221210 - Natural Gas Distribution with a size standard of 1,000 employees.
