Description
SLAC seeks vendors that can provide the following: One (1) Each of X-ray Laser Enhanced Altosecond Pulse Generation (xLEAP)for the LCLS. The seed laser for the xLEAP amplifier should use a Master Oscillator Power Amplifier (MOPA) architecture based on a SESAM mode locked femtosecond ring Erbium-fiber oscillator, octave spanning continuum generation in a Highly Non Linear Fiber (HNLF), spectral filtering (to reach appropriate spectral bandwidth and central wavelength) and amplification in Tm:Ho:fiber amplifier modules (to reach appropriate output energy). The design of the Er-fiber oscillator should allow rep rate stabilization (via cavity length control) for synchronization to the SLAC RF main frequency. Access to the narrow band spectral filter to tune the central wavelength or possibly change the spectral bandwidth of the seed source, is desirable. In addition to PZT an option for coarse cavity length (repetition rate) adjustment shall be implemented. Control of PZT and slow cavity length control are required.3) Piezo response bandwidth >10 KHz Residual timing jitter relative to reference (RMS) 4) <200 fs 10Hz-10MhZ THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE.
