Description
Notice of Intent - Ophthalmic Lens Engraving Tool The Naval Medical Logistics Command on behalf of Naval Ophthalmic Support and Training Activity (Nostra) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis in accordance with (IAW) FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Satisloh North America, Inc., N106 W13131 Bradley Way Suite 200, Germantown, WI, 53022, as the only responsible source that can provide is capable of providing ophthalmic lens engraving tools. NOSTRA has a requirement for five (5) ophthalmic lens engraving tools. The lens engraving tools shall be compatible with the Satisloh Orbit Generator System and capable of engraving semi-visible markings on all lens materials including freeform progressive lenses using Satisloh management software. Items being purchased in this acquisition: Description Catalog# Engraving Option, VFT-Orbit 02053386M VFT Engraving Pin 92007078 Service Manuals Operator Manuals Naval Ophthalmic Support and Training Activity (NOSTRA), Yorktown, VA has a requirement for five (5) Ophthalmic Lens Engraving Tools. The tools are an add-on to the new Orbit Generators that were recently purchased and will be used to engrave the newer progressive lens with layout configurations. The lens engraving tools shall be compatible with the Satisloh Orbit Generator System. They shall be capable of engraving semi-visible markings on all lens materials including freeform progressive lenses using Satisloh management software. The engraving options shall consist of tool holder, engraving pin, and Satisloh software editor program. The lens engraving tools shall be capable of labelling lens with various designs layouts using position marks. The ophthalmic lens engraving tool shall be capable of adding power and logo identifiers immediately after processing. The tools shall be compatible with the installed base of existing Satisloh VFT Orbit Generators in the Surface Department of NOSTRA. The power requirement is 120 VAC, 60 Hz. Vendor shall be an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized dealer, authorized distributor or authorized reseller for the proposed equipment/system, such that OEM warranty and service are provided and maintained by the OEM. All software licensing, warranty and service associated with the equipment/system shall be in accordance with the OEM terms and conditions. The system, including claims made for the product, shall be compliant with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, with respect to marketing and delivering medical products for use in the United States of America. These requirements shall apply even if delivery is requested outside of the United States of America. The system shall be installed in compliance with OSHA requirements. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System 339115 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties that believe they are capable of meeting the requirement stated herein may submit technical data sufficient to determine that capability. All capability statements received by closing of this notification will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Based on the above information, the only technically acceptable contractor for providing Ophthalmic Lens Engraving Tools is Satisloh, North America, Inc., N106 W13131 Bradley Way Suite 200, Germantown, WI, 53022.
