- Description
- NASA has selected Science and Technology Corporation (STC) of Hampton, Virginia, to provide research and development support services for the Systems Analysis Office; the Army Aviation Development Directorate; the Applied Modeling and Simulation Branch, and the Fundamental Modeling and Simulation Branches of the NASA Advanced Super-computing (NAS) Division; and the NASA Aeromechanics Office. The major objectives include modeling, simulation, analysis of systems relevant to the NASA aeronautics, exploration, space operations and science missions; the development and application of technologies for the design and analysis of aerospace vehicles and systems; large-scale numerical simulations in support of NASA and Army mission critical engineering applications; and fundamental advances in numerical methodologies, algorithms, physical models, and application code development at NASA Ames Research Center. The NASA Aeronautics and Exploration Mission Modeling and Simulation (AEMMS) contract is a cost-plus-fixed-fee (CPFF) hybrid contract that has Definitive Contract Line Items and Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract Line items and consists of a two-year base period and three one-year option periods with a total value of $39,311,355.00. The services to be acquired cannot be performed on a fixed price basis because it is not possible to adequately define the requirements for these services in advance.
