Description

Fleet and Industrial Supply Center San Diego intends to issue a sole source purchase order in accordance with FAR Part 12 and Part 13.5. The solicitation number is N00244-16-T-0170. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Aquisition Circular 14. No other written form or solicitation will be issued. FLC San Diego intends to award to Hawthorne Machinery Co, 16945 Camino San Bernardo, San Diego, CA 92137-2405 for (3 each), Elbow; P/N 6I-2774 and (2 each), shut off GP; P/N 388-7041. The repair parts are the only parts that will fit the existing diesel generator to full operational status onboard the USS NEW ORLEANS LPD 18. The reason justifying the lack of competition is that only the manufacturer parts will work. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1 and in conjunction with The USS New Orleans LPD 18, only one source is available for the parts for the generator unit. Caterpillar Inc is the sole manufacturer and distributor of all of the replacement parts. The parts are available through Hawthorne Machinery Company. The parts are commercial items. Commercial procedures as outlined in FAR 12 and 13.5 are applicable. This notice constitutes a request for Quotation. No other solicitation will be issued. The closing time and date is 12:00 P.M. (PST), Friday, 17 June 2016. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and will be advised as to how to submit their product(s) for future evaluation. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotations received by the closing date of the Request for Quotation set forth above will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Point of Contact is Scottish T.
