- Description
- NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk Philadelphia Office intends to procure, for the Commander, Navy Reserve Forces Command (CNRF),Sponsorship Outreach Support Services hosted by Society of Woman Engineers. SWE is the only organization that can host this type of female specific STEM conference and regional career fairs. The Navy has a vested interest in recruiting the best and the brightest across the nation. Our American Engineering professionals are becoming few and far between. SWE has a strong program which promotes education in several STEM fields to female students. Through SWEs coaching and mentoring in the future, the Navy and the United States will benefit from these well educated students who will have their educational background in several of the sciences, technology, engineering, and math fields. SWE package recommends services to support the Navy in the efforts of recruiting and retention. Their intent is to provide increased visibility of the Navy to female STEM career path students and influencers. SWE has the means and the community facilities to provide this service solely to address female STEM students. Although the Navy is making progress, it must continue to build a pipeline for talented female leadership that will be equipped to handle future challenges. The Navy will have the opportunity to meet potential candidates at the SWE conference held during October 2016 to include the various Career Fairs across the nation throughout the end of the contractual period. This is a grand opportunity for the Navy to support and participate not only for recruiting todays female engineers and doctors but also possible future ties for distance learning programs for Nuclear Power School, Civil Engineer Corps and Medical/Dental Graduates.
