- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for quotes and no contract or purchase order will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications or drawings available at this time. Military Sealift Command Norfolk has a requirement for the USNS ARCTIC (T-AOE 8) for Regular Overhaul Availability and Dry-Docking (ROH/DD) availability, on/about 02 February 2017 for 75 days. The USNS ARCTIC has a length of 753 Ft 8.5 inches, a Beam of 107 Ft, a Draft of 40 Ft 7.5 inches, and a Displacement of 48,603 linear tons. Work will be performed at Contractor's facility on or about the above mentioned date. Area of consideration is East/Gulf Coast. Estimated issue date of this solicitation is on/about 14 September 2016. While the finalized list of work items is still under development, a list of the notional work package items is as follows: 1. Clean & Gas Free Tanks, Voids, Cofferdams & Spaces 2. ABS Special Supply 3. ABS Tank Inspection and Testing 4. Oily Water Separator Replacement (TALT-301) 5. Lube Oil Purifier Controller Upgrade (TALT 188) 6. Auxiliary Boiler Inspection (ABS) 7. Replace Stern Tube Saltwater Cooling Piping 8. Replace 200 Feet of Saltwater Piping 9. Replace 100 Feet of Steam Piping 10. Frame 455 to 510 Habitability Modifications 11. 03 Level CIC Space Conversion into Berthing Spaces 12. Dry Docking and Undocking 13. Starboard Stern Tube Shaft Bearing Linear Replacement 14. Underwater Hull Cleaning and Painting 15. Freeboard Cleaning and Painting 16. Cathelco Sea Chest Protection System 17. Cargo Tank Coating Renewal 18. Main Propulsion Shafting Please provide a response demonstrating your firm's experience in performing similar work. All Small businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Certified HUBZone and Certified 8(a) Small Businesses are encouraged to respond. Indicate if your company is a large or small business, and if a small business, indicate if you fall within any of the further classifications (Hubzone, SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.). The Government will determine whether a set-aside acquisition in lieu of full and open competition is in the Government's best interest. This office anticipated award of a contract no later than 19 December 2016. This procurement will be solicited under NAICS Code 336611, Ship Building and Repair, which has a size standard of 1,000 employees. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE OR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential small business sources prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of an award. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this sources sought. It is requested that interested small businesses submit to the contracting office a brief capabilities package demonstrating ability to provide the requested items. This document shall address, as a minimum the following: (1) Company Profile to include number of employees, office location(s), DUNS number, CAGE Code and a statement regarding small business designation and status; (2) The facility where the work will be performed (3) Partnership agreements with any large businesses. Submission of a capabilities statement is not a prerequisite to any potential future offerings, but participation will assist the Government in tailoring requirement to be consistent with industry.
