Description
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS This Period of Performance is for a 12 months period from July 1st, 2016 through June 31th, 2017. The study sites are located in Lima (3 Hospitals), Dominican Republic (2 Hospitals) and Honduras (1 Hospital). All laboratory testing will be performed at NAMRU-6 facilities. An electronic tool website and database are needed to facilitate the collection of epidemiological, clinical and specimen data on this contract. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS The following activities are required: 1. Implement an electronic network surveillance of HCAI, in 2 Dominican Republic Hospitals, 1 Honduran Hospital and 3 Peruvian Hospitals. All activities will be coordinated with NAMRU-6 researchers and include: a. Overseeing the execution of the project (supervise/coordinate the collection of clinical data) b. Coordination with point of contacts (POC) of collaborating Hospitals at both sites. c. In coordination with NAMRU-6, ensure collection of nosocomial strains (NAMRU-6 will be in charge of this shipping). d. Ensure the strains will come from the patients included in the electronic data base. e. Designate a POC who will ensure data entry and laboratory coordination to send nosocomial strains. 2. Provide clinical, epidemiological and laboratory data collected under the INICC electronic platform at the aforementioned hospitals. 3. Lead in data management of the INICC network including database design, data validation, data entry, accuracy, and cleaning. 4. Provision of study results to local authorities. All information obtained will be entered into a database by the unique identification number at the contract data base electronic platform. No identifiable information will be obtained by NAMRU-6 investigators. Deliverables: Annual study work plan (in coordination with NAMRU-6) Technical Reports ** Training human resources at the hospitals to perform the study. The contractor shall send a detail expense report **Technical report shall include: o Activities performed (including coordination and communications with collaborators and supervisions), in the field at participating sites as necessary by project. o A detailed roster of specimens collected. o Any training related to the project delivered to our collaborators at participating sites. o Include any reports of results delivered to the MoH and/or site collaborators. o Activities performed for any event (e.g. course) as necessary by project. *The payments according to the percentage of advance will be calculated considering that all deliverables have the same cost. *A define number of participants enrolled is not a deliverable. NAMRU-6 shall provide the following: • Support for coordination with study sites staff to obtain approvals and set up the surveillance • Material to store isolates identified at each participating site, AMIES transport media and TSA media. • Shipping of samples/isolates from local and international sites to NAMRU-6 laboratories in Lima, Peru.
