Description

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE 578-16-018, Replacement Roof Building 18 at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, Hines Illinois. The contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, supervision, management, transportation, supplies and materials to perform construction services related to but not limited to the following on Building 18:. 1) Demolition: Remove approximately 7,500 SF of existing asphalt shingle roof shall be removed down to the deck level and replaced with new asphalt roofing system; Remove approximately 400 LF of existing gutters and downspouts; Remove approximately 400 LF of fascia and soffits; Remove all necessary flashing for new roofing system. Remove flashing at elevator tower; Protect from the weather the building during demolition and construction. 2)Construction: Clean and repair deck as needed to accept new roofing material and system; Install ice and water shield per specifications; Install approximately 7,500 SF of new asphalt roofing system per specifications. Install approximately 400 LF of new copper gutters and downspouts per specifications. Replace with new materials to match existing. Install new architectural gutter enclosure to match existing. Install new copper open-faced, channel shape, downspouts with hemmed longitudinal edges; Install approximately 400 LF of new fascia and soffits; Install new flashing per specifications. Install new flashing at the elevator tower and other items related to Replacement Roof Building 18 at the Hines VA Hospital. All work as per design documents and Scope of Work. Award is subject to the availability of funds. This construction project is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB's). All prospective contractors must be verified on the Center for Veterans Enterprises (CVE) website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on www.fbo.gov. There will be pre-Bid conference and walk-through held for this project. All prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-bid conference will be included in the solicitation package. The solicitation will be issued on/about 01 July 2016 with the bid opening on/about 3 August 2016. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from www.fbo.gov which may be issued to this solicitation. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, of the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to SDVOSB construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $100,000 and $250,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 238160; size standard $15.0million applies.
