- PURPOSE: The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the subject project. This is a Presolicitation Notice. This Notice is being issued for planning and informational purposes only. This notice is not a solicitation, nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not pay for any effort expended in responding to this notice, nor will the Government accept proposals as a result of this Notice. The plans and technical specifications for this requirement will only be available upon solicitation issuance. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Nashville District has a requirement for channel modifications to the Poor Fork of the Cumberland River between river miles 24.1 and 24.5 in Cumberland, KY. USACE Nashville District anticipates awarding one firm-fixed price construction contract as the result of sealed bidding procedures. No solicitation document exists at this time. The construction contract will involve a channel modification to the Poor Fork of the Cumberland River between river miles 24.1 and 24.5 and will involve an estimated 19,542 cubic yards of material. The channel bottom will range from 24-66 feet. The side slopes will be designed for a 2H to 1V slope. Filter cloth and riprap will be placed on the stream to stabilize it. Excavated fill will be placed in a landfill listed on the approved plans. Utility relocations will include sanitary sewer, water, electric, television, phone and storm water. This description is not intended to be all encompassing and is subject to change. NAICS CODE AND SBA SIZE STANDARD: The NAICS code for this project is 237990 with a size standard of $36,500,000. TYPE OF SET-ASIDE: The solicitation will be a total set-aside for Small Business concerns. SOLICITATION AND CONTRACT TYPE: It is anticipated that from the IFB solicitation, the Government will award one Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) Construction Contract. DISCLOSURE OF THE MAGNITUDE OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT: The current estimated disclosure of magnitude range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. ANTICIPATED PERTINENT DATES: The anticipated solicitation release date is on or about July 13, 2016. The anticipated bid opening date is on or about August 17, 2016. A pre-proposal conference/site visit will be held approximately 7 calendar days after the date of solicitation release. These forecasts are subject to change. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Specific information pertaining to this procurement will be available in the solicitation. The solicitation documents will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website, www.fbo.gov.
