Description
FedBizopps ID#: X-ray Detectors/ CCD's for High-Resolution RIXS DATE: 06/20/2016 Due Date of Responses: Tuesday. July 8, 2016 DO NOT CONTACT THE CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR. THIS IS FOR SOURCES SOUGHT AND IS NOT A SOLICITATION. IF INTERESTED LEAVE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION ON THIS POSTING. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is in search of Suppliers to manufacture, test, and deliver 3- each, X-Ray Detectors/ CCDs for High-Resolution RIXS, for use in the soft x-ray high-resolution RIXS endstation and the soft x-ray emission spectrometer at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory at the LCLS-II facility. Suppliers shall from date of award, provide detectors that meet the requirements set forth in the Engineering Specifications for x-ray detectors for high-resolution RIXS dated 6/10/2016, below: Engineering Specification for x-ray detectors for high-resolution RIXS dated 6/10/2016 1. Scope We need 3 x-ray CCDs for use in the soft x-ray high-resolution RIXS endstation and the soft x-ray emission spectrometer at LCLS-II. The camera head will be installed in a vessel containing also the spectrometer optics and the electronics will have to interface and be integrated in the LCLS/LCLS-II DAQ and controls systems. To follow the focal curve the entire detector assembly will be movable in the horizontal and vertical directions. Spatial resolution of the detector is of crucial importance for the performance of the spectrometers. We aim at incorporating the x-ray cameras in an experimental configuration allowing 5 um spatial resolution. Both instruments will operate in the energy range between 0.25 and 1.6 keV and require very good quantum efficiency in this range. 2. Specification 1. the CCD sensor shall have a pixel size of 10 um by 10 um (~ +/- 3um) 2. the CCD shall be comprised of at leas 4096 by 512 pixels 3. the CCD parallel shift direction shall be in the direction of the 512 pixels 4. the CCD shall support at least 16 outputs 5. the CCD outputs shall exhibit a performance of better than 5e noise rms at 300 kpixels/sec readout rate with a full scale signal of 25 ke 6. the CCD pixels shall exhibit a full well of greater than 100 ke 7. the output shall exhibit a performance of better than 12e noise rms at 300kpixels/sec readout rate with a full scale signal of 100 ke 8. the linearity measured from 5 e to 70 ke shall be better than 0.1% 9. the CCD shall exhibit a CTE performance better than 0.99999 10. the CCD shall be backillumnated 11. the CCD shall have a active device thickness of greater than 100 um 12. the CCD shall exhibit a quantum efficiency of 95% for an x-ray energy of 1.486 keV 3. Electronics feature requirements 1. the CCD performance shall be acomplished with the provided CCD controller 2. the CCD controller shall digitize the image signal with at least 16bit resolution. 3. the CCD controller shall include a Ethernet interface 4. the CCD controller shall support external triggering capabiltiy 5. the CCD controller shall support a full frame rate of at least 2 Hz 6. the CCD controller shall support a frame rate of at least 200 Hz in vertically fully binned operation 7. the CCD controller shall provide all nececcary voltages and clock signals to the CCD 8. the CCD controller shall weight less than 10 kg 4. Other requirements The CCDs should be delivered on carriers that can be mounted with a precision of 100 um and can be metrologized to better than 1 um. The camera needs to run in better than 10^-5 Torr vacuum and at more than -100 C temperature. 5. Components required The awarded contract shall deliver 3 cameras (CCD+controller) and at least 3 spare C
