Description
The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) seeks information on vendors that are capable of providing a THz-Raman detector accessory meeting the requirements discussed below. The purpose of this notice is to identify organizations capable of providing equipment which meets these requirements. This announcement is not a Request for Proposals or Quotes (RFP/RFQ) and does not commit the Government to award a contract now or in the future. The information contained in this notice is DRAFT only and as such, is subject to change prior to issuance of a solicitation. No solicitation is available at this time. After results of this market research are obtained and analyzed, NIST may conduct a competitive or non-competitive procurement and subsequently award a contract. If at least two qualified small business sources are identified during this market research stage, and they are proposing equipment which complies with the Non-Manufacturer Rule standards/exceptions, this acquisition may be solicited as a small business set aside. NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large and small businesses (SB, SDB, WOSB, HUBZone, SDVOSB and VOSB). This requirement is assigned a NAICS code of 334516 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. Interested business organizations that believe they may be capable of meeting NIST's desired specifications detailed below should provide a capability statement demonstrating the ability of the Contractor's equipment to meet all of NIST's requirements. Contractors may provide supplemental information within this document or as an attachment at their discretion. NIST requires a THz-Raman detector accessory for use with an existing Raman microscope system. The detector accessory must the following technical requirements: • Must be hardware and software compatible with existing Raman microscope, a Kaiser Optical RAMANRXN1 Analyzer with an MA-785-sp microscope assembly. • Must have a spectral collection window of 5 cm-1 to >3000 cm-1. • Must provide simultaneous Stokes and anti-Stokes signals. • Must have an optical in/out switch to remove the system from the optical path when not in use. • Must be available with a 532 nm excitation wavelength.
