- The U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ), on behalf of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD), Picatinny Detachment, is posting this Special Notice for sources who may be interested in future production of MK 419 Mod 1 Multi-Function Fuzes, for use in Navy large caliber ammunition. The primary use for the Fuze will be as the detonation initiator for the 5-Inch Mk 187 Mod 0 High Explosive Multi-Function Projectile. The Fuze contains the MK 60 Mechanical Delay Arming Assembly, PBXN-5 Booster Pellet, and shall be compatible with an MK 34 Fuze Setter. The Fuze shall operate in 5 modes: Height of Burst, Air, Autonomous, Point Detonating, and Electric Time Mode, and shall meet the requirements of the top level drawing, 53711-8347015-1, in addition to all related specifications, component drawings, and assembly drawings. The Navy intends to release the Technical Data Package (TDP) to interested Contractors that meet all requirements listed. All documents are marked for Distribution D. Distribution Statement D means distribution authorized to the Department of Defense and U.S. DOD contractors only. The detailed specifications and applicable drawings will be made available through the Procuring Contracting Officer (PCO) upon request, and after submission of a valid DD2345, a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), and AMSTA-AR Form 1350 Technical Data Request Questionnaire. Once the TDP is provided to authorized Contractors, no further information is required by the Navy at this time. This Special Notice is being posted solely to offer the TDP to authorized Contractors who may be interested in future requirements for the MK419 Mod 1 Multi-Function Fuze. Note: THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. This is a Special Notice only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal, nor as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Special Notice. Participation in this notice is strictly voluntary.
