Description
Project Description: This requirement includes in-place abandonment and removal of the existing Herbert Hoover Dike Culverts S-290 (IP-2) and S-292 (IP-1). Additionally, construction of new water control structures S-290 and S-292 at the respective adjacent or existing locations will be required. The demolition and reconstruction efforts will require the installation of steel sheet pile cofferdams with earthen plugs on the lakeside and an earthen cofferdam on the landside of the culvert in order to dewater the construction site. The structures will include cast-in-place reinforced concrete foundations, headwalls, and box culverts. Combination flap/slide gates will be installed at the lakeside headwall of each structure and dual leaf gates on the landside headwall of S-290. S-290 will consist of two (2) 6-foot by 6-foot culverts with approximate barrel lengths of 100 feet. S-292 will consist of one (1) 5-foot by 5-foot culvert with approximate barrel length of 84 feet. At the completion of the embankment reconstruction at each structure, the crest elevation will be 30.5 feet North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). Riprap will be installed along the lakeside embankment face, and a control building will be installed on the lakeside work platform at each structure. Work also includes operation of the by-pass structure, grassing and turbidity monitoring. Please provide a response via email to John Vohlken (john.d.vohlken@usace.army.mil) no later than COB 22 June 2016 responding to the following questions: 1. Are you a small business or large business concern? If small, please state any socio-economic status as well. 2. Does your firm have an interest in bidding on these projects (IP1 and IP2) as separately competed projects? 3. Does your firm have an interest in bidding on these projects (IP1 and IP2) as combined under one single procurement? If no, please explain. 4. If the projects (IP1 and IP2) were to be consolidated into a single procurement, would it adversely impact your ability to participate? If yes, please explain. Please note that any responses received to this request for information will be used for market research purposes.
