- This is a Sources Sought Synopsis. This synopsis neither constitutes a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach. This synopsis should not be interpreted as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. This Sources Sought Synopsis is a market survey being conducted by the St. Louis District, Corps of Engineers to identify Contractors with experience and qualifications for hazardous, toxic and radioactive waste (HTRW) remediation. Responses should include a brief capability statement of no more than three pages indicating HTRW and FUSRAP environmental remediation experience. The environmental remediation construction efforts will include but not limited to remedial action, remedial excavating contaminated material with an estimated depth of 2 feet, automated separation utilizing industrial soil sorting combined with radiological measurement devises, low-level radioactive contaminated material removal and disposal, HTRW manifesting, utility relocation, water management, radiological support, engineering support, construction support and MARSSIM. The qualified firms should also indicate any management of Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contracts. The site of the anticipated work is the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant located in Middletown, Iowa. Estimated volumes of excavated soil for the site range from 30,000 to 40,000 cubic yards.
