Description

FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(A) An urgent and compelling need exists, and following the ordering procedures would result in unacceptable delays: The Phoenix VA Health Care System is requesting the EMERGENCY lease for of a mobile sterilization processing trailer. A floor renovation will be taking place in the existing Sterile Process Service (SPS) area beginning the first week of July 2016. The estimated time to complete the floor renovation is one month. A mobile sterilization processing trailer is required in order to sustain operations within the facility while the floor renovation is being conducted in the SPS area. SPS sterilizes all the instruments needed for the various clinics throughout the hospital. This procurement would allow SPS the means to continue operations. Without the mobile unit, the facility will be required to divert Veterans to other community hospitals throughout the duration of the renovation period.
