Description

Justification for Other than Full & Open Competition The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) intends to negotiate a sole-source Award under the authority of FAR 6.302, to Thermo Electron North America for maintenance of the existing Thermo-Nicolet Fourier Transform InfraRed (FT-IR) Spectrometer system. The projected amount for 5 years is $42,930.25. Thermo is the only company certified to provide support, maintenance and upgrade services for this equipment. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a size standard of $20.5 million dollars. The award resulting from this requirement will be pursuant to FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. THIS SPECIAL NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED; NOR WILL QUOTATIONS BE REQUESTED. If your firm possesses the ability to provide these goods/services, at the designated location, submit technical literature showing your capability of meeting the Government's requirement by the close of this Special Notice.
