Description
Project Description: Includes cutting and slashing along with lop and scatter of live coniferous trees on approximately 33.5 acres located in portions of sections 35, T17N, R19E PMM in the foothills of the Judith Mountains North of Lewistown, Montana. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies and incidentals required to perform and complete these services. The project involves cutting and slashing live conifer trees taller than 18inches and less than 5inches in diameter. In addition, all trees marked with yellow tree marking paint at DBH will be girdled and left standing. All cut material shall be treated so that no single piece is longer than 7feet and accumulated slash depth is 18inches or less. The number of trees per acre to be cut varies considerably but averages approximately 500-700 across the project area. The project site consists of slopes that vary from 0% to 35%. Vehicular access to the project area is available. (4WD may be required). Contract is to be completed by December 31, 2017. Work will not be permitted during the big game hunting season. A site tour is not scheduled. Offerors or quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where services are to be performed and to satisfy themselves regarding all general and local conditions that may affect the cost of contract performance, to the extent that the information is reasonably obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award. ALL questions concerning this project are to be emailed to csweeney@blm.gov at least five working days in advance of this solicitation's closing date. Callers will be asked to submit their questions via email. This project is a small business set-aside. Offerors are required to have an active SAM (System for Acquisition Management at www.sam.gov) registration by this solicitation ¿s closing date to be eligible for award. SAM registration is FREE.
