Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Southeast Network (VISN 7), intends to solicit proposals for Virtual Pharmacy (Prescription Verification) Services for its beneficiaries. Pharmacists are needed to remotely complete (verify) pending outpatient prescriptions from the eight (8) VISN 7 medical centers and their remote clinics throughout Alabama (Birmingham, Montgomery/Tuskegee, Tuscaloosa), Georgia (Atlanta, Augusta, Dublin) and South Carolina (Charleston, Columbia). The prescriptions shall be verified by the pharmacists and sent electronically to the mail-out facility in Charleston, SC and Murfreesboro, TN, or to a VISN 7 facility for issuance. Prescriptions shall be verified Sunday through Saturday with emphasis on after hours (after 5:00 pm on week days) and weekends, to include holidays. The contractor shall be able to provide and maintain a staff of at least six (6) qualified pharmacists at all times. The contractor personnel shall meet al licensing/certification requirements in accordance with the Performance Work Statement and resultant contract. The anticipated period of performance is Oct 1, 2016 thru Sep 30, 2017, with 4 one-year option periods to be exercised at the Government's discretion. The applicable NAICS Code is 621399 - Offices of All Other Miscellaneous Health Practitioners, with a size standard of $7.5M. This acquisition is totally set-aside for small business. The solicitation shall be issued on or about June 30, 2016. All questions regarding the solicitation shall be submitted in writing to Valeria.Murray@va.gov.
