Description
The US Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, awarded a sole source contract to Career Systems Development Corporation. The statutory authority permitting this acquisition of this requirement by other than full and open competition is 41 USC 254(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. Job Corps is a national training program that provides comprehensive academic, residential and career technical training services to approximately 60,000 disadvantaged youth each year at 125 Job Corps centers nationwide. The requirement is for the operation of the Penobscot Job Corps Center located in Bangor, Maine. The anticipated period of performance is a twelve (12) month base period from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017 with the option to extend the term of the contract for another twelve (12) months (two 6 months options). The requirement includes academic, career technical, career success and independent living skills, and career readiness training, and support services, for an estimated 273 students (255 residential,7 non-residential male and 11 non-residential female). The contractor shall operate residential quarters (housing) and service to all students as applicable. This is a sole source notice published for informational purposes only and not a request for competitive proposals. Therefore, no solicitation document exists for this requirement.
