- The Defense Logistics Agency, DLA Maritime Norfolk, Contracting Division, intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price contract to procure 5.000 EACH lead ballast weights, to be shipped to the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 331491 ( Nonferrous Metal (except Copper and Aluminum) Rolling, Drawing, and Extruding ) and the procurement will be 100% small business set-aside. The contract line items (CLINs) are as follows: CLIN 0001: WEIGHT, BALLAST LEAD, 5,000 EACH ITEM NAME: WEIGHT, BALLAST 6.2 ORDERING DATA: A. WEIGHT, BALLAST, MlL-W-20096D, 6 JULY 1987 B. TYPE (A) LEAD C. 3" X 3" X 9.375" LG PER NAVSEA DWG. 121-6037056 EXCEPTIONS: 1. TOLERANCE SHALL BE 1/8" INSTEAD OF 1/16" AS NOTED ON REF. DRAWING 2. WEIGHT SHALL BE APPROX. 34 POUNDS 3. Per MIL-W-20096D NOTICE 1 dated 22 April 1998: MIL-W-20096D dated 6 July 1987 Is INACTIVE FOR NEW DESIGN and is no longer used, except for replacement purposes. ADDITIONAL INFO: 1. VENDOR WILL POUR LEAD INTO MOLDS OR PIGS 3" X 3" X 9.375" LONG, FINISHED WEIGHT SHALL BE APPROX. 34 LBS. EACH. 2. VENDOR WILL POUR PIGS, CLEAN-UP, AND PALLETIZE PIGS. 3. PIGS TO BE BANDED TO NON-RETURNABLE PALLET, TWO (2) PIGS HIGH. The solicitation number will be SPMYM1-16-Q-0070. The solicitation is expected to be posted on 30 June 2016 and close on 8 July 2016.
